The view mode displays all the information you have entered about each recipe in a protected view. This prevents accidental deletion or changes in the information you have entered. To view any recipe, simply click on the quick find list located on the left hand side.

The main section contains the recipe information. Built4 Recipes is designed to accept as much information as you want to enter. The only required field is the name of the recipe. You can freely use the program to save the amount of information in the style you want.

The toolbar is the main navigation. The first three icons on the left side are the action icons.

1. You can add a recipe by clicking on the first icon. This icon will navigate to DATA MODE. You can delete in VIEW MODE by pressing the second icon. Caution: this will delete the recipe completely with no recovery. A popup message does alert you to this action. The third icon will take you to DATA MODE where you can safely make changes to your recipe.
2. The active recipe is displayed in rolling pin graphic found in the header of the page. The active recipe is the current recipe that is being reviewed. If the name of the active recipe appears in red, this indicates that the recipe has been selected by you to be a favorite. This bell and whistle will help in finding that certain recipe that you may be looking for.
3. Built4 Recipes includes helpful reports to view and print. Simply click on the REPORT icon and a drop down will appear.
4. To exit the program, simply click on the EXIT icon. You can also close the window and exit as you would in many window programs.

Displays records available and is sortable by category only.

1. Navigate through the records using these record navigation buttons. You can easily go to the first recipe, previous recipe, next recipe or last recipe. Click the middle icon and this will break the category sort and all the recipes will be displayed in the main section that have been entered in the program. If you have not chosen a main category, using the navigation arrows or viewing the RECIPE REPORT is the only way to find these recipes. The RECIPE REPORT offers navigation to any recipe. (More information about categories is explained later.)
2. Recipe count is displayed by showing the number of recipes.
3. By typing a few letters into the white box of the QUICK FIND system will cause a sorting action to begin, assisting your search for a specific record. For example: if you pressed the Breads and then would type in the letters BU in the white box- all the recipes starting with BU - example BUNS would be displayed.
4. Click on the double arrow icon and it will clear the search and all the records will be displayed once again for that category.
5. Click on the recipe name listed and the information you have entered will now be displayed and considered the active recipe.

Clicking on any of these categories will display all the recipes in that section. The category choices include:

• APPS
• BEVS
• BREADS
• CHEFS
• COPYCAT
• DESSERTS
• HOME MADE
• MAIN
• PETS
• SALADS
• SIDES
• SNACKS
• SOUPS

These categories can not be changed. You can add more categories but they will not change this main list. Any categories that you add will be displayed in the Information Box and will be sortable in the recipe Report. If a recipe is not sorted by the main categories shown above, they will not be displayed when clicking on the category icon.

Information is show in the bright orange box if you have entered the information in the recipe file. If you have not entered the information in the field, then the field will not appear. It is similar to a quick reference and can be very handy when you are working with a recipe.

1. Three BONUS databases are included. Substitutions, Herbs and Spices and Tips.
2. Shows the preheat oven temp.
3. Indicates the cooking time.
4. Indicates the prep time.
5. Displays the main category.
6. Displays the cuisine.
7. Indicates the yield.
8. Document. This is a very handy bell and whistle. Now you can easily find documents such as PDFS and Word docs that are stored on your computer, then open that file and view. No more searching and searching for that one certain file. Extremely handy if you have saved a diagrams or chart to the recipe file. When there is an associated file attached, the document icon will turn blue. NOTE: This only stores the location of where the document is stored on your computer. It is a good policy to create a folder and keep all the documents associated with B4 Recipes in that folder. Save the folder where it can be easily found. If you move the folder, the program will not be able to find the document. This does not save the document to the program itself in order to keep this software lightweight.

All these areas are optional and do not affect the software itself. If you have not added this information, the field does not display.

1. Above the photo, the source of the recipe is shown. This can be someone who created the recipe, gave you the recipe or the website where you found the recipe. While in the VIEW MODE, you can zoom in [6] and see a close up of the photo by clicking on the arrows located in the lower right side of photo.
2. The photo.
3. You can rate the recipe using the 5 star method.
4. Below that is the status of the recipe: tested or not tested will display if you have made that indication.
5. Following that is your rating of the difficulty of the recipe using the 5 star method.
6. Zoom photo function.

Three tabs are shown in the main section of the View Page.

1. The first shown (by default) is the list of ingredients.
2. INSTRUCTIONS will display showing the directions that relate to the current active recipe.
3. CONVERT section is reference tool that is very handy while working with your recipes. More on this section later.
4. You can add and display the cost of the recipe.
5. NOTES Sticky note to add your recipe.

Great tool to have when converting recipes. Easy to read charts.

• The Quick Convert will help convert different measurements that are often used in cooking. Metric to Imperial, Imperial to Metric and convert using Imperial to Imperial and Metric to Metric.
• A helpful chart showing the frequently used measurements.
• A fast look up chart displaying standard measurements.
• A pound equals is a fun chart providing different pound measurements of common products that may be helpful with your recipes. Please note, these are only for reference and subject to change as the industry change their designs.

Built4 Recipes does not guarantee the accuracy of these charts. They are for reference only.

Three bonus popup databases are included. Tips, Substitutions, and Herbs and Spices. As with most areas of Built4 Recipes, they are optional and do not affect the workings of the main program. All three work in the same manner. For this document, we will only discuss one. Substitutions. The database is opened by clicking on the Substitution icon, in the main section of the VIEW MODE page. This works very similar to the main layout and you may now be familiar with. The upper header section offers the ADD, DELETE and CLOSE icons.

1. The CLOSE icon will save any changes or additions and close the popup database. Fill in as much information as you want.
2. The name of the ingredient (required field)
3. You can choose a category for that spice.
4. Indicate if the substitution was tested or not.
5. Main section is for entering any information you want to save about the ingredients.
6. If you delete that section, it does not delete the entire substitution. This is handy if you find that certain substitution does not work.
7. The QUICK FIND. Works similar to the QUICK FIND on the main page but is not controlled by categories. All your ingredients are sortable and available.
